WHO IS KORINA?
I am a 40 year old dedicated professional and have been a proud Vancouverite for 15 years. I have been happily married to Scott for 9 years, and we are expecting our first child, a new year’s baby, in January of 2009.
My post-secondary educational background is in Forestry, and I have worked with a local natural resources consulting firm since 2000. I have been active in sports all my life and am a committed advocate of healthy living. I also founded and serve as president of The Foundation of Hope for Children’s Hospitals, a 100% volunteer registered charitable organization that raises money for children’s hospitals across Canada.
In 2005, I was elected as an NPA representative to the Vancouver Park Board, along with my fellow
colleagues of Heather Holden, Ian Robertson, and Marty Zlotnik. These three years as a Commissioner,
2008 as the Chair, have been extremely exciting, with many significant accomplishments, ranging from
the redevelopment of new parks such as Nelson and Victoria Parks, approving the new English Bay
Bistro, opening the new Sunset Community Centre, approving the Vancouver Aquarium expansion plans,
progress of our Active Communities Program, breaking ground on 2 new sports fields at Main and
Terminal, the development of 3 Olympic/community facilities, to, of course, the successful recovery of
Stanley Park from the 2006 windstorm. I would like to commend everyone involved in the Stanley Park
recovery effort, from the community, the experts, the donors, and the Park Board staff.

VOTE KORINA HOUGHTON
Very simply, I love Vancouver and will do the best I can for the present and future health and prosperity
of our City.
City Council and Vancouver citizens are facing several issues today, with solutions that are both complex
and expensive. My previous municipal experience along with my environmental and fiscal background
will enable me to contribute to the City in a manner that reflects what is needed and desired by
Vancouverites.
I look forward to solving these issues with the competent and diverse NPA team for Mayor, Council, Park
Board, and School Board we have assembled for the 2008 Vancouver election.
